i saw a blog where the writer was making these cute fringy lengths of crepe paper and since i’ve been on a sewing “kick” (i made one thing, i’m on a kick!) i wanted to make some too. it’s one of those things that i couldn’t get out of my head. i had to do it today. now. and then i couldn’t refind the blog. i googled E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. and couldn’t find it. i gave up after an hour and wung it.
i started out with 2 colors (the only 2 colors i had in my party supplies!) and sewed them together with a straight line down the middle
then i snip snip snip and snipped some more on both sides of the stitching (don’t snip too close or you’ll end up with 2, like i did!)

and have a lookie at my pedicure – man, i hate pedicures, i’ll tell you why another day – the color is “suzi says feng shui”, i thought it would be a nice compliment to the wading pools we’ll be hanging out in on vacation coming up! ANYWAY…
then you just kinda fool and futz with it til it looks right. then fool and futz some more.
we’re gonna go out and get a bunch of other colors tomorrow and perhaps put some lengths in the etsy shop!

What a neat idea, and that is a really great straight line, see there would be my roadblock…lol…but the colors are perfect for July 4 as is….you could do red and white for Canada Day on July 1….I love this idea it’s so much better than plain streamers and you could use these another year if you put them away and remember where!
