I’ve heard many mixed reviews about sesame place. We want to go in Aug. I guess people’s negativity has made me not want to go. I was told “if u like lake compounds go there don’t spend the money”. We are trying to be very cost effective any ideas as to hotels around the area that are reasonable?? ?? I also read on their website that they don’t allow any snacks/food in the park. Wondering of there was a way to sneak in a package or two of goldfish (again trying to save money as much ad possible) thoughts?!

Lake Compounce is fine, we’ll be going this summer for sure but Sesame Place is Sesame though. The rides and attractions are aimed at kids up to 9 or so years old, there’s plenty to do. Honestly, any gripe I’ve ever had w Sesame Place has had to do with the visitors, not with the park or their staff. I also see it as you put in what you want to get out. We sing songs, we ride the rides with our kids, we get excited to see the characters and the parade with them, we wear silly matching visors, we see it as an excellent family time.

The most reasonable hotel we stayed in is the Comfort Inn in Trevose/Feasterville. It’s a 10 minute ride to the park from there, pretty much a straight shot. Depending on on/off season, it’s about $120 a night. As for the snacks, someone was misinformed. You’re allowed snacks, water bottles (plastic), and even a cooler as long as it isn’t bigger than 12″x12″. We bring a water bottle and our own snacks to enjoy during the parade, and even some fruit for when we just need a break and something sweet.

I cannot say you’ll go and have a life changing experience, but it could indeed be very memorable for everyone!

We have been wanting to go there, planning a trip for sometime in June, fingers crossed
