Feels like Summer…

Lots of little exciting things are happening around here.  I’m attempting to get a gig writing for Stonyfield Farms for a few months, they have a promotion going for #wakeupwithstonyfield.  Every day they have a theme, every day I try to post a pic with (or without) that theme.  Yesterday’s ended up on their webpage.  That was pretty exciting!

The girls are LOVING the hot weather, last week they had to wear winter coats to school!  Get it together, Connecticut weather!!  Next week we might have to go back to jackets, so we’ll take what we can get for now.

They enjoyed an afternoon of bubbles, chalk and icecream sandwiches after school yesterday.  I enjoyed it mostly from inside – all that greenery is a pollen-filled recipe to make me a sneezy, rashy mess.  Ahh, spring in New England.

I can’t get over how much they’ve grown and changed since last year.

I went a little crazy and bought a LOT of fruit for fruit salad, more than we’ll eat so I sent the girls to the bus this a.m. with a container for the bus driver.  It had the regular watermelon and honeydew, strawberries and raspberries, but I also pitted some cherries – a tasty touch!  The girls went to bed with damp braided hair, so this a.m. they thought they looked like little versions of their mama.

(there are letters in her drawing that say “Come Back Soon” – it’s facing out of the driveway.) =)

Only 4 weeks and 3 days of school left, it seems like forever.  I can’t wait for summer!

we love fruit salad here. although now that wiggles song is in my head. fruit salad…yummy yummy

  3. I think I am the only person on the planet who can’t eat melon. Well I can eat it but I dislike it. Every few years I try it again hoping that my tastes have changed, but they never do. It’s hard with fruit salad because whenever you try to get one outside of the house they ALWAYS have melon. That’s so sweet that you sent some out to the bus driver!

ARGH! Now I’m singing the Wiggles, too! I love fruit salad, as well. We have a FULL MONTH of school left- and that make summer seem SO FAR AWAY!

We eat a ton of fruit around here! I’ve never been a fan of cherries, though, not sure why. Nice of you to think of the bus driver!
