Well, we made it through NaBloPoMo!! 30 days of posting on my blog – sorry about that. But I did it, yay! Do I get a prize? No? Well then.
We went as a little family last night to opening night of Lake Compounce Holiday Lights – and man-o-man, there were lights!
Everything was BEAUTIFUL. Lights on the rides, lights in the 12 days of Christmas theme, lights everywhere. (I love lights.)
We were lucky enough to be invited to a Media/VIP reception to have a nice snack and a tasty beverage – cocoa for the girls, eggnog for the grownups. With full tummies, we were ready to take on the cold!
They rode the carousel not once, but twice.
I call this one “Driving Miss Babycakes,” she remembers from this summer that she’s a little too short to drive effectively so she made her big sister drive her:
The cold set in after a bit.
There were plenty of heaters and places to duck in to warm up, but ahhh, it’s nearly December in CT, it’s gonna be cold! There’s a couple resturants open, there’s a SMORES stand (OH. EM. GEE.), soup in bread bowls, holiday shopping, singers and performers for the kiddies with space heaters in the seating, we managed to not totally freeze! There was plenty to do for my girls and lots for the grownups to see.
Santa’s there for pictures and a meet-n-greet! There’s a place to decorate gingerbread houses and write a letter to Santa – I hear he writes back!
Exciting for us, we bought season passes for the girls and I for the summer, we’re going to be spending a ton of time here in the upcoming months! They’re running an awesome deal for the holiday weekend. Lake Compounce Season Passes, don’t miss out!!
It was a GREAT way to kick off the Christmas season for us – bring on the holidays!!
